09.07.2006 After a perfect race weekend at Okayama, the next race of the all japan F3 championship took place at Suzuka.
Everybody knew it would be a difficult weekend for Toms. Honda is very strong on this cirquit and it was already hard to beat them at the 2nd round in april.
In the free practice everything looked fine. Adrian was respectable 3rd and only 2 tenth behind the first.
In the qualifyings on Saturday Adrian had big problems. The track conditions changed a bit and the balance of the car was completely different. So, Adrian qualified only on the 7th and 8th position.
For the first race Adrian started from 8th position. After a great start he moved up on 5th position. Already in the first lap he could overtake the next car in front of him moving up to 4th position. In the following lap he overtake Roberto streit for 3rd position. Then only the Honda cars where in front of him. But the gap was already to much to close it. Adrian did no mistake until the end and finished on a very good 3rd position. This was the maximum he could.
For the 2nd race Adrian started on 7th position. He did a good start and could move up to 4th position after the first corner. For the next laps he was trying to make pressure to the car in front of him but he couldnt find a way to pass. In the last 5 laps it started to rain a little bit. The track went greasy and it was very difficult to drive. Adrian was the fastest on the track. After a little mistake in a fast corner Adrian lost 2 positions and was on P6. In the next laps he overtook one car after the other.
for the last lap he was again on P4. On the last straight he was slipstreeming marko asmer and overtook him out of the last chicane. He safed another podium position and good points for the championship.
The next race takes place at Autopolis on the 7 the August.
